Grants At A Glance

The Rubys were established in 2013 to provide project-based support for individual artists. The goal of the program is to provide meaningful support to individual artists to allow for the creation of new work. The Rubys supports the notion of risk-taking (in practice, content, process, and/or outcome) and equally values artistic integrity, strong ideas, feasibility, and communal meaning. The program is open to artists at any stage of their career and favors projects that have significant creative work left to accomplish.

PLEASE NOTE: Rubys Alumni (Artists who have previously received a Ruby Grant) are ineligible to apply for funding in this application.  If you have previously received a Rubys Artist Grant as individual or with the same collaborator that you intend to apply with this time, please visit the RUBYS ALUMNI GRANT APPLICATION.

Thank you for your interest in applying to the Rubys Artists Grants!

The Grant Interest Form is intended to provide us with information about your organization and the proposal you would like the Robert W. Deutsch Foundation to consider. By law, we can only make grants to 501(c)(3) organizations.

Once you have completed the Grant Interest Form it will automatically be submitted to the Foundation's office. Grant requests are evaluated on a rolling basis. However, due to a high volume of requests, allow up to six weeks for a response indicating whether you have been invited to submit a formal proposal.

If you apply in December or early January, please note that we will begin reviewing grant applications in mid-January on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Robert W. Deutsch Foundation requests a Final Report following the conclusion of your grant period; within 60 days of the completion of the project/program.  The final report date is specified in your grant agreement.
Thank you.

*If you have prepared a report for other funders that covers the information for this grant, feel free to submit that instead of writing a new report.
